PUBLICATION
New Research Published in JACS
Collaborative research involving members of the Iski Research Group was recently published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS). The study, Probing the Role of Cooper Dislocation in Electrochemical CO2 Conversion, explores how structural features influence electrochemical performance and hilights the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration.

FUNDING
New NSF MRI Grant Awarded
The Iski Research Group contributed to a newly funded NSF MRI award supporting acquisition of an X-ray Photoelectron Microscopy (XPS) platform for surface measurements in extreme and complex environments. The instrument will strengthen research capabilities across multiple disciplines at The University of Tulsa and create new opportunities for collaborative research.

Celebrating 12 Years of CSURP & TURC
The Iski Research Group is celebrating twelve years of participation in the CSURP and TURC programs. Over the years, these programs have provided students with hands-on research experience in surface chemistry, microscopy, nanoscience, and materials research while preparing them for future academic and professional opportunities.

Welcoming Our 2026 Summer Researchers
This summer, the Iski Research Group welcomed students through CSURP, TURC, REU, and Junior TURC programs. Tessa, Jazmin, Tyler, Anna, and Libbie contributed to ongoing research projects involving surface chemistry, nanoscale characterization, and materials science while gaining hands-on laboratory experience.

Dr. Iski Named Department Chair
Dr. Erin Iski continues to lead the Iski Research Group while serving as Chair of the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at The University of Tulsa. In this leadership role, she supports departmental initiatives, faculty development, and student success while maintaining an active research program focused on surface chemistry and nanoscale phenomena.

Dr. Iski Returns to TU
August 2013
Following completion of her Ph.D. at Tufts University and postdoctoral research at Argonne National Laboratory, Dr. Erin Iski returned to The University of Tulsa as an Assistant Professor. This milestone marked the beginning of the Iski Research Group.
Lauren, Greg, and Austin Join the Group
January 2015
The Iski Research Group welcomed three new undergraduate researchers: Lauren Jackson, Greg Jones, and Austin Carr. Their addition marked an exciting period of growth for the research group.
Abigail Presents at ACS National Meeting

Abigail traveled to Denver, Colorado, to present her research at the 249th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society. The presentation showcased work completed in the Iski Research Group during the previous year.
CSURP 2015 Begins

The Iski Research Group welcomed new summer cohort through the Chemistry Summer Undergraduate Research Program (CSURP), including participation from the Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge (TURC) Junior Scholar Program.

Abigail Joins the Group

The Iski Research Group welcomed its first student researcher, Abigail, a biochemistry major at The University of Tulsa. Her arrival marked an important milestone in the growth of the newly established research group.
Heather Officially Joins the Group

Jesse Joins the Group

Jesse Phillips joined the Iski Research Group at its first graduate student. He began pursuing a Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry at The University of Tulsa under the mentorship of Dr. Iski.
